MINSK, 30 May (BelTA) - Official delegations of more than 20 countries are set to participate in the 35th international specialized exhibition Belagro. Among them, seven countries will be showcasing their achievements in the agricultural sector and getting acquainted with the successes of Belarusian agriculture for the first time, Belarus’ Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Vladimir Grakun told BelTA.
This anniversary edition of the exhibition brings notable changes. Firstly, this year, one of Belarus' largest trade events will be hosted at the new Minsk International Exhibition Center, offering an additional 6,660 square meters compared to its previous venue in the China-Belarus Great Stone industrial park.
Secondly, the growing popularity of the event is reflected in an increase in the number of participants. According to Vladimir Grakun, official delegations of over 20 countries will take part in the event. Among them, seven countries (Botswana, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Qatar, Mozambique, Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina) will present their agricultural achievements for the first time. Exhibitors from Russia, Germany, Italy, China, Iran, Türkiye, Vietnam, Palestine, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan will also showcase their agricultural advancements. Delegations from 18 regions of Russia will take part, from them - 12 regions will feature their exhibition stands: Bryansk Oblast, Voronezh Oblast Lipetsk Oblast, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Novosibirsk Oblast, Rostov Oblast, Smolensk Oblast, and Chelyabinsk Oblast, Krasnodar and Perm Territories, Saint Petersburg, and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
"Compared to last year, we have gained 55 more participating companies, which demonstrates the high demand for Belagro,” Vladimir Grakun stated. "As usual, the exhibition will feature Belarusian enterprises and organizations of the Industry Ministry, the Agriculture and Food Ministry, the National Academy of Sciences, the Bellegprom and Belgospishcheprom concerns and the Belarusian Republican Union of Consumer Societies."
The exhibition will also include a business program, featuring dozens of thematic conferences and seminars. Experts will discuss a wide range of topics, including enhancing the competitiveness of agricultural products, developing pedigree animal husbandry, improving agricultural machinery manufacturing, accelerating the development and implementation of technologies for farmers, and exploring Belarus' cooperation prospects with both neighboring and distant countries.
The international specialized exhibition Belagro has been setting the tone in the agro-industrial world for 35 years. This year it will be held at a new venue, the Minsk International Exhibition Center, on 3-7 June. According to the organizers, this year's exhibition will be the largest one in its history. A total of 545 companies from 14 countries have applied for participation. Among them are Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Germany, Italy, China, Iran, Türkiye, Vietnam, Palestine and Pakistan. The program includes forums, round tables, workshops, contests, demonstrations and presentations. Cultural and entertainment events will be held almost non-stop throughout the exhibition days. The participants are preparing their expositions to make the program interesting for both adult and young visitors.
