MINSK, 3 June (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Vladimir Borovikov met with Director of the ASEAN Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, Ambassador Tran Duc Binh on 2 June, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Hanoi.
"The parties exchanged views on the current state and prospects of Belarus' cooperation with ASEAN and its member states," the embassy noted.
Ambassador Vladimir Borovikov reaffirmed Belarus' commitment to expanding interaction between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and ASEAN as part of Belarus' chairmanship in the EAEU in 2025. He emphasized the importance of strengthening dialogue between the EAEU and ASEAN.
This year, Belarus is chairing the EAEU for the third time. The priorities of its chairmanship were outlined in an address by Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to the heads of EAEU member states, published in January 2025.
