
MINSK, 27 May (BelTA) - Belarus and Tatarstan enjoy a long-standing cooperation and plan to develop new areas, Head of Russia’s Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said following a meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin on 26 May, BelTA has learned.
Rustam Minnikhanov stated that he expects to visit Belarus in three months at the invitation of the Belarusian prime minister. "We have a long history of cooperation, and our industrial manufacturers know each other well. We need to explore new cooperation opportunities for both sides," he said.

Tatarstan’s head also stressed that the Belarusian delegation visited only three enterprises: MTZ-Tatarstan, KAMAZ, and TANEKO, but there are many more areas where cooperation is possible. "Thanks to good relations between our leaders, we have the opportunity to work very productively. But this trust must still be justified," he concluded.

Belarus and Tatarstan agreed on a new format for bilateral cooperation. Aleksandr Turchin explained that working groups led by deputy prime ministers will meet monthly in various formats. The Belarusian prime minister and the head of Tatarstan will analyze the results of their work every three months.
