MINSK, 23 June (BelTA) – Belarusian industrial enterprises demonstrate excellent production practices, Governor of Russia’s Kemerovo Oblast (Kuzbass) Ilya Seredyuk said as he met with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Minsk on 23 June, BelTA has learned.
First of all, the governor thanked the Belarusian head of state for the opportunity to meet and for the hospitality. Taking the opportunity, he congratulated Aleksandr Lukashenko on the recent reelection. According to the governor, the choice made by Belarusian people showed a collective sense of optimism and confidence in the chosen path.
Ilya Seredyuk went on saying that Kemerovo Oblast trades with 89 countries of the world. Despite the distance, Belarus ranks 14th on this list. Ilya Seredyuk described the relations between Belarus and Kuzbass as long-standing and strong. The region actively uses a wide range of Belarusian-made equipment, including utility vehicles, road machinery, and agricultural equipment. For example, about 10% of grain harvesters operated in Kuzbass are Belarusian-made. “The shipments of this equipment can be increased,” the governor remarked. Possible joint projects with MAZ aimed at increasing MAZ sales on the Russian market are under discussion. “We supply coal, metallurgy products, food products and purchase high-quality equipment manufactured by Amkodor, MAZ, MTZ, BelAZ,” the governor said.
Kuzbass has long been fruitfully cooperating with BelAZ. During the current visit, the Kemerovo Oblast delegation toured the enterprise. “I would like to praise great production practices. We have studied the [working] conditions as well as benefits and perks for employees. The social responsibility to the team is an example to follow for our region, our enterprises. The housing program for young specialists amazed us,” Ilya Seredyuk noted.
Currently, a project to build a BelAZ service center is running in the Russian region. The center will provide maintenance services not only for BelAZ equipment, but also for machinery made by other Belarusian manufacturers.
